ACHIEVEMENTS 2022-23 and 2023-24
ANTI HUMAN TRAFFICKING CELL (Established on 2.04.2022)
1. Seminar on “Anti Human Trafficking Awareness” on 25th June, 2022
With a view to facilitate the effectiveness in resolving the cases of human trafficking as well as capacity building and training of Anti Human Trafficking Units across the country, the National Commission for Women established an Anti-Human Trafficking Cell on 2nd April 2022 which will further strengthen and sensitize the law enforcement machineries. In this backdrop, the National Commission for Women in collaboration with Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) organised a one-day seminar on Anti-Human Trafficking Awareness on 25.06.2022. The seminar was attended by almost 700 participants including the State Women Commissions, WCD Departments of States/UTs, Senior Police Officials, Senior officials from Para Military Forces, Government Organizations, National Commissions, Administrative, Judiciary and Police Training Institutes, Non-Governmental Organizations, Directors of Medical Institutions, Universities/Colleges and Media among others.
2. Anti Human Trafficking Awareness Seminar at Moreh, Manipur on 29th August, 2022
The National Commission for Women, in association with Manipur State Women Commission organized an awareness generation seminar on Anti Human Trafficking at Moreh for the districts of Tengnoupal and Chandel, Manipur on 29th August, 2022.
3. Seminar on “Combating Human Trafficking of Women in NER” on 28th September, 2022 at Shillong, Meghalaya NCW in collaboration with Meghalaya State Women Commission and North Eastern Council (NEC) organized a Regional level Seminar on “Combating Human Trafficking of Women in NER” on 28th September, 2022 at Shillong, Meghalaya. The seminar was attended by more than 300 people and included participants from the Police, Social welfare Dept, Paramilitary Forces, NGOs, Students and SWC Chairpersons/MS/Members of different NE states.
4. Seminar on Anti Human Trafficking Awareness at Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan NCW in collaboration with District Administration, Sawai Madhopur organized an “Anti Human Trafficking Awareness” programme at Sawai Madopur on 22nd November, 2022 for the relevant stakeholders and local residents of Sawai Madhopur.
5. Seminar on “Awareness of Government Schemes for Women” and “Anti Human Trafficking Awareness” at Kalimpong, West Bengal
NCW in collaboration with District Administration, Klaimpong organized Seminars on “Awareness of Government Schemes for Women” and “Anti Human Trafficking Awareness” at Kalimpong on 2nd and 3rd December, 2022.
6. Seminar on “Anti Human Trafficking Awareness” at Mumbai on 16th December, 2022
NCW in collaboration with Maharashtra Police and Maharashtra SCW organized a Seminar on “Anti Human Trafficking Awareness” at Mumbai on 16th December, 2022.
7. Seminar on “Anti Human Trafficking Awareness” at Goa on 14th March, 2023
The National Commission for Women in collaboration with Goa Police organized a one-day Awareness Seminar on Anti Human Trafficking on March 14, 2023, at Menezes Braganza Institute, Panaji, Goa. The participants for the event included Officers of Goa Police, Members of Child Welfare Committees from North Goa and South Goa, Various NGOs, Victim Assistance Units from North Goa and South Goa, Protective Homes, Sub-divisional Magistrates from Talukas of North Goa and South Goa, Doctors from Forensic Department and Professor/Students.
8. Seminar on “Anti Human Trafficking Awareness” at Srinagar on 27th April, 2023
The National Commission for Women in collaboration with Social Welfare Department, Government of Jammu & Kashmir and Jammu & Kashmir Police organized a one-day national level seminar on “Anti Human Trafficking Awareness ” on 27.04.2023 at Srinagar , as the trends, patterns and strategies with respect to trafficking evolve consistently and adapt to new demands, challenges and law enforcement responses.
The seminar was attended by almost 700 participants including senior police officers from different States/UTs, representatives from the Social Welfare/WCD Departments of different States/UTs, State Women Commissions, State Legal Services Authority, Paramilitary Forces including the CISF, CRPF, BSF, RPF and Indian Army, Civil Society Organizations from different States/UTs, Students and Media among others.
9. Seminar on “Anti Human Trafficking Awareness” at Goa on 7.7.2023 for CISF Personnel, MoPA Airport
The National Commission for Women in collaboration with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), organised a one day seminar on 07.07.2023 at Goa to raise awareness on the pressing issue of anti-human trafficking. The event was attended by senior officers and officials of CISF MoPA Airport, State Government, Goa Police and representatives of civil society.
The National Commission for Women in collaboration with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), organised a one day seminar on 13.09.2023 at Hyderabad to raise awareness on the pressing issue of anti-human trafficking. Ms Tamilsai Soundarajan, Hon’ble Governor, Telangana graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The event was attended by senior officers and officials of CISF, Customs Officials, State Government, Telangana Police and representatives of civil society.
The National Commission for Women in collaboration with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), organised a one- day on 26.09.2023 at NSCBI Airport, Kolkata to raise awareness on the pressing issue of anti-human trafficking. . The event at Kolkata was attended by officials of CISF Kolkata Airport, State WCD Department, State Police, State Women Commission and Customs Department.
The National Commission for Women in collaboration with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), organised a one- day Seminar on “Anti Human Trafficking Awareness” at Delhi on 27.10.2023 for CISF Personnel, IGI Airport, New Delhi to raise awareness on the pressing issue of anti-human trafficking. . The event at Delhi was attended by officials of CISF IGI Airport, Delhi Police, Bureau of Immigration and Customs Department.
A Seminar on ‘Awareness on Anti Human Trafficking’ was conducted in Bengaluru in association with CISF on 28th February, 2024. Over 250 participants attended this seminar including CISF personnel, immigration officials, and representatives from airlines like Indigo & Vistara, fostering crucial dialogue and action against trafficking. The seminar was attended by Smt Anjana Sinha, IPS, Chairperson, Andhra Pradesh Road safety authority, Shri S.K Mohanka, DIG, CASO, ASG Bengaluru, Smt Meenakshi Negi, Member Secretary NCW and other important dignitaries.
The National Commission for Women (NCW) recently organized an impactful seminar titled “Awareness on Anti-Human Trafficking” in collaboration with the Railway Protection Force (RPF) in DDU Junction, Uttar Pradesh on 30th April, 2024. This workshop, aimed at combating the scourge of human trafficking, featured esteemed speakers and engaged over 200 participants from various sectors. The participation of over 200 individuals from Social Welfare, AHTUs of Eastern Central Railway, and RPF personnel from DDU junction underscores the collective commitment to combating human trafficking and protecting the rights and dignity of all individuals.
The National Commission for Women (NCW) organized an impactful seminar titled “Awareness on Anti-Human Trafficking” in collaboration with the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Pune, Maharashtra on 10th June, 2024. The workshop was attended by RPF personnel from five divisions- Nagpur, Pune, Mumbai, Bhusawal and Solapur.
The National Commission for Women (NCW) organized an impactful seminar titled “Awareness on Anti-Human Trafficking” in collaboration with the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Jhansi Junction, Uttar Pradesh on 25th June, 2024. This workshop, aimed at combating the scourge of human trafficking, featured esteemed speakers and engaged over 240 participating officials of RPF from various areas like Prayagraj, Agra, Gwalior and Jhansi.
The National Commission for Women (NCW) organized an impactful seminar titled “Awareness on Anti-Human Trafficking” in collaboration with the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh on 29th August, 2024. This workshop was attended by almost 340 participants including RPF, Madhya Pradesh Police and CSOs.
An impactful workshop on Anti Human Trafficking was held on 19th September, 2024 in New Jalpaiguri Junction, West Bengal and was attended by RPF, BSF, SSB and CISF officials as NJP is a critical transit point bordering Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan.
